Cindy and I have worked with quite a few contractors in the past, both in building new homes and remodeling old ones.  In all instances these have occurred in the same city in which we live.  With Matt things were quite different.  We live in Ohio and we were building in Idaho. Both Cindy and I were anxious to say the least. Matt Kaufman was the best thing that ever happened to us in the construction world.  He was detailed in his reports to us and he was organized. He kept in constant communication and kept us informed of progress. Matt also came up with innovative ideas that Cindy incorporated into her design.  He was on site it seemed all the time; he had his finger on the pulse of construction and had tight reins over his subcontractors. Most important to us Matt was honest, we could trust him, and from miles away this was a worry that Matt quickly dissipated. I thank Matt for his hard work.  We now have a home second to none; an environmentally friendly home, extremely pleasing to the eye, and very energy efficient.  I can’t thank Matt enough for building this home we love so much.

My husband and I wanted to improve a small ensuite bathroom.  It entailed incorporating a closet space to the original bath space.  We had very broad goals which included adding a sauna and a hydro-therapy tub with an in line heater and multiple jets.  We also wanted to include a shower with a frameless glass door. 

With this in mind, we interviewed three contractors.  Matt Kaufmann was our instant choice for many reasons.  He came prepared to fully understand our design guidelines and the structural elements which would impact the job.  Matt took pictures of the attic, closet and original spaces.  He added measurements.  Then he gave us some wonderful ideas that lead to design elements which we loved.  He suggested that we lift the ceiling which has had a dramatic effect on the space.
